11.28.09 "Tangina" in Crescendo
I haven’t been updated with news this past week basically because of my irregular schedule. Like, I go to work at 12 or 2 and be home at 11 or 12. It ain’t a regular job and at needs a mile of adjustment so as I could cope. Anyway, I’ve read one of Gang Baboy’s posts on Tweeter about this Ampatuan Massacre that I wasn’t aware of. I immediately asked my mother, who was still awake that time, and have told me that it was a political rivalry issue in Maguindano and the one behind it was already under the custody of the authorities. I then searched it on the web and found an article on CNN’s site. I was shocked by just seeing the photos. Like, there are body parts that are cut, people dumped in one grave, and dead people. So, there were 57 killed and, I think, most are media men. I couldn’t stand the other photos that I was speechless on how morbid and heartless these people could be. I actually want a death sentence for that Ampatuan and justice for every single person killed in Maguindanao! I can’t get over it until now. Horrible!
Another thing, Philippines is now declared the most dangerous place for media people. Like, hello Iraq we’re almost of the same level!
Well, I still feel tired right now after yesterday’s orientation. I was awake for almost 24 hours and only had 5 hours of sleep. I woke up at 12 and remembered that I haven’t brushed my teeth yet. Haha. After doing such, I immediately opened my Facebook to serve my foods on Café World. Good thing that it isn’t spoiled yet. Maybe I was just in time before it spoils because it’s been more than 12 hours already since it has been ready to be served. I also have posted my supposed blog yesterday.
I’ve planned to have my haircut a week ago but I wasn’t able to do so because of my damn sched. We do not have training on weekends so I have my free time today and have decided to go to the salon and have it done. I didn’t really like what that gay guy did on my hair. I just have to bear with this for few weeks to achieve my desired style. For now, I just have to be contented styling it with a yucky hair wax. I actually don’t like styling my hair at all because basically I don’t care how messy it looks. Haha. :)
11.27.09 Restless
A long, long, long and tiring day it has been. As in, I really am tired that when I got home, I went directly to my room and fell into deep 4 hours of sleep. I didn’t even bother to wash my face or brush my teeth. I know it’s eeewww, right? Haha. Well, I don’t care! I’m tired! :)
The one who handles my requirements called this morning telling that I still have to get a clearance for my pre-employment exam. I thought that it will be shouldered by the company so I didn’t ask for extra money from my father. It was just in Friendly Care Clinic when I was told to pay for a certain amount. Good thing that I was able to bring my extra allowance because I’m meeting my friends, Che and Darryl at 6. I got my clearance like after an hour.
Anyway, I was really happy that I was able to meet with my college friends that I haven’t seen for quite a while now. Well, except for Che, because we meet almost every week. Darryl treated me a Starbucks! Haha. I had my season favorite, Black Cherry Mocha Frap. Yey! I actually need caffeine because I’d be up until 5a.m because we are for night shift today. I need something to keep me awake because orientations really are not interesting at all. It’s boring. I actually have invited them to come with me to Home Depot for few more hours because anyway, it’s weekend and I think, they don’t have work the next day.
The orientation started at around 9 in the evening. Everything from salary to rules and stuff are discussed that I was nervous after every topic because almost all who have talked were saying things that discourages me to pursue this job. I was thinking if this really is for me. In an instance, during our tour, I was confident and okay before I entered the floor but the moment we were inside, my heart was really pounding and I was nervous to death seeing those people. I just am not certain if I could finish it until the graduation. Everybody’s saying that training for an inbound-whatever is way tougher than outbound. Oh well…
After the orientation, our wave met with our trainer. We went to San Mig-whatever near El Pueblo for some drinks. It was Monty’s treat, I think. I was really sleepy because I didn’t have enough sleep to start with. I was up for almost 24 hours. I went home at around 8.
I’ve just woke up. :)
11.26.09 Grow Up!
I am taking back what I have said on my other post about Manny of Project Runway Philippines since I was able to watch PRP this morning and was also able to see his collection that I was really in awe at it. Santi and Russel’s collection are quite so-so and… expected. Uhm, there is indeed a “brighter” future for Manny, well, because first, it is given that he is a good technician and second, his taste level now becomes more sophisticated and he now develops his creativity. His collection, for me, is the best as far as compared to the other two. But I still like Russel’s style and there’s nothing to argue about that. What I’m saying here is that I was wrong that I judged Manny’s “supposed” collection before I was able to see it. It was chic and fashionable and… marketable, I guess. The thing now is that, there’d probably be a very stiff competition between the three of them because they do have prepared well for the runway and the finale. Just like the previews season, it can be the one we least like who bags the prize. I didn’t like Aries Lagat in PRP’s first season until I saw his finale collection that I realized that he is, indeed, the best in the bunch.
There was tension in our class/training today and rude words echoed in our room during the confrontation. I just so loved it! Words like: “Grow Up!” and “I won’t start an argument with someone whose not in the same level of my bitchiness” and “You know what?… F*ck you!” came out from their riffle-like mouths! I actually have written about the other person involved in the clash on my previews posts. What I didn’t know was that everyone’s feeling the same towards her. So, it’s not just me that notices her being know-it-all and stuff. She’s actually the topic over dinner and I so loved it again. Haha. Someone actually has talked to her over the matter and her response was as simple as “I was raised by my parents not to be a loser”. Didn’t you just love how bitch she can be? :)
Anyway, games like the ones that we play during sessions are the ones that I look forward every day. Like, I’m so childish and I try to be competitive enough but my group hasn’t won even a single game yet. And we always end up performing because that’s the consequence of losing. But, I have to say that TODAY IS MY GROUP’S DAY because we finally have won. It was just a charade game, but who cares? At least we still have redeemed ourselves after losing for three consecutive days. Haha. Dancing Spice Girl’s “Stop” made me hate losing because performing in front of people that you actually didn’t know is quite humiliating on my part. :)
Glee hasn’t failed yet to put smile on my face and tears to my eyes. Like, just the other episode, I totally have cried after Sue’s short scene with her sister. It makes me love her more and understand her attitude. Episode 10, well, is not as good as the previews one but the “wow” factor was still there and the songs that they’ve sang were really some of my favorites. I loved it when Rachel and Will sang “Endless Love”. Haha. Okay… In this episode, Finn and Quinn’s “secret” has already been revealed to their parents and both had different reactions. Quinn’s parents cannot accept her and was asked to live. She’s now living with Finn and her mom, who by the way accepts them whole heartedly. It was another tear jerking scene. Rachel on the other hand, had a crush on Schu and had stalked him but was eventually enlightened after she was confronted by Pepper, a girl who also had crush on Schu, and have told her an advice and stop doing such. As ever, I always like it when the cast sang on the end part. They sang “Lean on Me” as a form of support to what was happening to Finn and Quinn. Love it! And oh, there’s nothing much of Sue here. Why is it?
10.25.09 Ego
I actually don’t know what to write about now because what I am doing these past days is starting to be a routine – I wake up at 11, eat lunch, prepare at 12, leave by 1p.m, be in the “office” by 2 and so on and so forth. The only thing that makes me look forward for the next day was the fact that I am being paid even if I don’t enjoy it. Uhm… but, I have to admit that I am starting to like the company of my co-trainees and our trainer. Like, there’s no such thing as dull moment. We laugh and play games and sing and… hurt it each other! Kidding! :)
So there was a revelation during dinner time but I and my “new” close friends weren’t on the actual scene because we decided to have our dinner on a different table so as, maybe, discuss something about the person who’s getting into our nerves these past days. Anyway, it was just my seatmate who told us about it. So here it is. Two of my co-trainees have admitted something about their sexuality that I actually did not expect. Like, hu-what? Is it for real? And, yes… it is! I didn’t even smell them! Well, just to some this up, in the start of our training, there were like 7 “guys” in the class… minus me and the other gay which makes them 5. But now, the real guys are like down to 3 because the two others came out in the open already! I was thinking that Monty, our trainer, was right that at the end of our training there are only few guys who will be left loyal to their sexuality. Haha. Love it! :)
I wasn’t able to watch the Project Runway Philippines finale episode because our dismissal time is 11p.m which means I won’t be able to catch it even if I rush home. Hmmm. I’m just hoping that it’s not Manny who won because the fashion industry might become damned! Yes, he is a good technician and he sews well but at the end of the day, it’s still the creativity that matters. He basically hasn’t developed it in that PRP span of time. I am really betting on either Santi or Russel but I like Russel more. I also like Santi but he hasn’t won any challenges in the previews rounds, well, maybe because most of his works are just so-so and are just made to become a runner-up. I don’t know. Anyway… I’d definitely be happy if anyone from these two wins. Love them both and I know for sure that both have got bright future in the Philippine fashion industry.
Liaising words and other facts about Canada are the ones that were discussed today. And I have to say that I find it tough liaising words. I actually didn’t get it at all. The discussion part definitely is my least favorite part everyday because I find it hard to absorb everything that is discussed. I’m not even certain if I absorb it. I just want to games part!
Yesterday, we were asked to write an essay about the person I hate the most so obliged myself to write about someone that I recently hate because of her being “know-it-all” during our group tasks that most of my group mates are also on the verge of hating her too. I just wrote tactlessly because anyway it’s my opinion that I write there. What I did not know was that we have to read it loud today. I was just so scared that she would know that I’m directing my thoughts on her and that an issue would arise. You know, it’s just our third day and we’ll still be spending like a month together. I just don’t want to create a fight during these early parts of my so called “job”. I wanted a smooth sailing work-relationship with these people because at the end of the day, everyone wants peace of mind.
I’m so sleeeeeeepy. Tata! :)
10.24.09 h-What, h-When, h-Where
I was supposed to get a haircut this morning but the salon that I usually go to was close. I thought of just having it done in the cheap Ricky Reyes salon but have decided not to because they’ve done too much disaster to my hair on my past experiences with them.
Someone from PLDT finally came to fix my busted internet connection. Like, he just did some clicks and stuff on our phone line then… ta-dah! He ping-ed it and the result were good. But then, when he left, the connection went to its normal self which is intermittent and annoying. Bottom line was that it still hasn’t been fixed! So, now I was thinking over again if it is my laptop that has the problem or is it still PLDT? Oh well… I just spoiled my foods on Café World because of that. That damned PLDT DSL connection! Garr!
I was to report at 2 this afternoon for “work” but I left the house at half past 12 because I planned to drop by the HR office to submit my pending requirements – the bank form. It just took me like less than 10 minutes which means I still have time to meet up with Che. So, I met with her and had coffee at Starbucks. I had Dark Cherry Mocha-whatever. :) My sister and I usually order that one since it was released this season. But, my favorite would still be the Strawberries and Cream- whatever.
I was 10 minutes late when I came to Sitel. Good thing though that the class hasn’t started yet so I had time to compose myself back because I was kind of wasted when I get there. I actually ran on the way to OJV. It was gray day today so all of us wore gray. It’s actually not necessary that we have to dress up and wear gray, we just have to put on something in a gray shade. I was very obedient that I wore gray jacket and my gray sneaks. Haha. Loved it!
Phonetics and subject-verb agreement were the topics discussed today. I just don’t excel in these topics and that’s the reason why I hate it. But, I love it when we play games! We were also asked to write an essay about “The Person I Hate Most”. I had a hard time, basically, because I don’t easily hate a person. Haha. Anyway, I wrote about someone who I hate because of her being dominant and know-it-all. Like, when we were doing a group work, it’s all her ideas that we do that we eventually lose after such because it just doesn’t work. In short, she does not have bright ideas. And I do! Kidding. I remember one of my professors telling us about the difference between a “dominanteng bobo” (a person who’s dominant but stupid) and someone who’s smart but shuts up because he/she doesn’t need to prove something to anyone.
Uhm, I don’t know if I learned it right but in what I have understood, words that start with “wh” should be pronounced with an “h’ before it. So you say, hu-what, hu-where and hu-when. Haha. I’m sort of exaggerating here. Tata! :)
11.23.09 First Day, eh?
So, I received an SMS last night telling that my orientation/first day of training starts today. Like, I was not prepared at all- that I haven’t even had my haircut yet and wasn’t able to attend on the stuffs that I have planned to do before I’d start on the supposed date which was on Tuesday, November 24. I was just unprepared and not really excited and it just hasn’t sunk in me yet. :(
Headed to Sitel at around 9 (the call time is at 10) just so I have a spare time to let myself adjust on this new environment. I met my new “workmates” who, by the way, are quite older than me and, already, have had a CSR experience. One of them even told me that I look young and guessed my age. She said I look 19. Haha. I was really flattered. I know that I do look young!
Okay… our skill specialist, Monty, was quite cool and funny and… loud? Well, anyway he’s doing it in a different approach I am kind of liking it. The extra stuffs that we do were fun but the actual things that we have to learn are really boring. We were even asked to memorize Canada’s 10 provinces and 3 territories and its capitals for like 15 minutes that I panicked and wasn’t really able to memorize it all because I was carried away by the pressure. Good thing though that I was able to answer all the questions that were asked to me.
The training’s setup was quite similar to a school discussion with a li’l fun added into it. We play games, do groupings, discuss on stuffs related to the account et cetera. I actually have lost a game and was told that my team will be performing tomorrow before the class starts. And I effin do not like it. We’ll be dancing Spice Girls’ “Stop”. So gaaaaaaaaay!
I was thinking if I really like this “job”, basically because I never would want to land a job that I wouldn’t be enjoying and just hold back on what was supposedly the path that I should be taking – Marketing or Advertising perhaps. “Love what you do. Do what you love.” I read that quotation on the wall where we held our training. I just made myself reflect on it and didn’t really get the answer that I was searching for months now. I’m hoping that I could just be enlightened in the soonest time!
Anyway, it was indeed a very tiring day. I have already signed the employment contract and was able to bond a bit with my new workmates. Well, I do not know if should consider them my friends yet. Haha. I’m still on my adjustment period.
By the way, we were like given an assignment already. We are to research on Canada’s National Anthem and its Prime Minister. Oh well…
And oh, the word “eh” on my title is actually a slang word that I’ve learned on one of the topics that were discussed today. Candians pronounce it as “ey”… just like how you say the letter “A”. :)
Tata! :)

11.22.09 So, It Was Nicole Who Won ANTM 13
I finally was able to watch ANTM Cycle 13 finale! So, I already know that it was Nicole who won and I was really rooting for her after last week’s episode basically because she’s really got good photos from the start of this cycle. I just didn’t realize back then that Laura was also nailing every shoot that she had.
Laura really does own and commands attention on the catwalk during the Julia Clancey fashion show. Nicole was just so-so and not a real ramp model-material. I actually was on the verge of laughing really loud but realized that Tyra was right that it could be Nicole’s signature walk and her confidence is what brought her to where she is right now. Laura was just so natural and this challenge belongs to her.
I was thinking that both Laura and Nicole tied on the Cover Girl TVC shoot. They both have overcome their issues and made it through like someone who’s been doing it for a long time. They really are adorable that I even applauded after their TVC. Sorry for the exaggeration…
On the shoot with Nigel Barker, I have to say that it was still Laura who nailed it. Nicole also had a good photo but as compared with Laura’s, it’s way better and more Cover Girl-ish. Okay, so based on this finale episode, I was really thinking that it was Laura who did best and probably the one who deserves the title. I still like Nicole’s awkwardness that brought her too far from where she was before. Laura, also, has gone too far from being a girl who castrates cow. Haha.
Bottom line here was that it was still Tyra who’ll be deciding on whom should be called America’s Next Top Model. So it was Nicole who won and, I think, she also deserves it. Nicole, perhaps, was just a step ahead of Laura but that should not stop her (Laura) because I see potential in her. She walks great and she’s really adorable. Btw, Jennifer, Erin, Brittany, and Sundai and her forehead also walked in the Julia Clancey fashion show. I still like Jennifer! :)

My grandmother’s sister came for a visit today. Okay… technically, she’s still my grandmother. Anyway, It’s been long since she last visited us and I have to say that I missed her too. I remember that she once stayed here to take care of me when I was a kid. I was a little bratty on her and she’s just too patient with me that even my father always scolds me and tells me to respect her. I just didn’t know that word when I was young. Haha. Everybody says here that I was really maldito. And oh, this grandmother of mine really is flexible that she can still touch her toes, without bending her knees, until now! Take note that she’s already 80+. I even can’t reach my toes without bending my knees. She’s just great!
Have also watched Ms. Earth 2009 and didn’t really focus on it because I am writing this post. So, it was Ms. Brazil who won and her runner ups are Ms. Philippines, Ms. Venezuela and Ms. Spain. I’m currently wondering… why is that Venezuela always gets a spot on the top 10, 5 and the title in almost all beauty pageants? Like, Ms. Venezuela has just won Ms. Universe this year!
11.21.09 I Miss My Friends
I was very happy today that I get to bond with my friends again after a long time. Pardon my being exaggerated, but it really is surreal. I just missed being with them while laughing at nonsense things and talking just about what have happened during the times that we’re not together and a lot more. I was with Mae, Jun and Arianne.
The plan actually was to visit school – FEU, for some catching up with the closest friends and professors but we instead went to Manila Grand Opera Hotel to visit Arianne who was participating in an exhibit sponsored by their company. Of course there was a lot of catching up because it has been months since I’ve been with these people. I actually missed laughing loud in public but we held back a little bit because the place (and the exhibit) is quite a formal affair and people there are quite keen on its visitors. Anyway, we actually had our lunch there for free. It ain’t ours actually but the ones who supposedly own it have already taken their lunch so they eventually offered it to us. Uhm, the approach was just not so welcoming but the bottom line is that the food is still free! Haha. I’m kinda patay-gutom eh!
After which, we then headed to Chinatown to try the noodles that Jun suggested when we were on our way to visit Arianne. I actually have read Jun’s blog about his trip to Ongpin, with his friends, just months ago and it (going to Ongpin) actually, is one of my dreams. I’ve asked my friend, Lyka, to accompany me sometime but she’s been busy with her brother’s business already and she can’t spare a time yet. Okay… so, we dined at Wai Ying, a Chinese restaurant that offers, I think, authentic Chinese foods. We just had mami since all of us were full already because we just had our lunch. Mae and Jun had wanton mami and a white chicken mami, I, on the other hand, had beef mami. I was kind of bloated after that! We didn’t just stop there; we also bought some Hopia from the famous Eng Bee Tin. I bought my fave ube and pastillas hopia! We then head back to the Grand Opera Hotel for Arianne who has requested us to come back for her. And that’s it! I had fun and that takes it all. I was just tired after that. Haha.
My sister SMS-ed me, while I’m on my way home, asking if I would like to join them for a movie (New Moon) and for dinner as well. It’s actually my brother-in-law’s birthday celebration. So, I was in LRT when I received the message. Good thing was that I read it while the train was stopped in Cubao station. I eventually decided to go down and just take a jeepney ride to Eastwood.
We weren’t able to watch New Moon though because Eastwood cinemas were like fully booked until midnight. Does this mean that New Moon really was better than Twilight? Some says Twilight was quite better. Anyway, I just have to see it myself and I can’t wait to see Tailor Lautner’s gorgeous abs! :)
We instead had our dinner at the House of Wagyu Stone Grill in Eastwood Mall. The restaurant offers expensive Wagyu beef cooked in a very hot stone. It was actually served raw on your table so you can decide how you would want it cooked. I like it medium rare. I was just shocked on how expensive it was. Well, I consider it expensive because I really cannot afford such. The Wagyu beef costs around P10 per gram. Yes, they charge it by the gram. We ordered the 350g New York-whatever steak that was around P2000++. The steak comes with a soup of the day and bread. In our case, it was Pumpkin soup which is quite good too. They also ordered Oysters, New Zealand mussels and Alfredo pasta. I don’t eat sea foods so I just let them enjoy those! Haha.
We went home just in time for PBB. So, it was Patria who got evicted. Have to say, that I really enjoy Melissa and Jason’s “love team” and their daughter Dengue! They’re just so hilarious!
It’s been a very tiring day but have to say that I do had fun. And I really miss my friend! And the LRT ride! Haha. :)
